Share your views and experiences

These ‘havers’ are informal drop in sessions for students to share your honest feedback, so the University can make sure the student experience is the best it can be.

This is your chance to meet with Harriet Dunbar-Morris, the Dean of Learning and Teaching, and her faithful companion Toto (who is a great listener).Harriet hosts her 'Haver / heɪvə/ with Harriet' sessions (a haver is a Scottish term for a chat) throughout the academic year, often with her dog Toto.

Sessions are normally held in the Library Atrium every six weeks or so to ensure that enhancements to the student experience at Portsmouth are based on your views and feedback.

We always want to ensure your learning experience is the best it can be, but your feedback is even more important for the blended and connected approach of teaching. As the mix of online and face-to-face learning is a different experience for everyone, it is important to tell us now what works and what needs to be improved, so if we need to make improvements we can make them as early as possible.

In previous sessions students have talked about many things including their course, Moodle (our Virtual Learning Environment), changes to the curriculum, placements and exchange programmes, personal tutoring, and student safety. You can bring up any topic you'd like to talk about, both academic or pastoral topics, if it has an effect on your student experience (good or bad), and also get any advice or pointers from Harriet.

Online sessions

As face to face drop in sessions aren't possible at the moment, the next session will take place virtually so Harriet can answer some of your questions and make a note of any concerns.

Tell me what matters to you, what works, and what you’d like to see change. I’m a Scot, and ‘haver’ is a Scottish term for a chat. So if you just want to drop-in to say hi that’s fine too.
